Kickstarter Halfway Update

Dear Friends,

After an exciting couple of weeks, we have reached the halfway mark of our fundraising campaign on Kickstarter! We want to extend our sincere thanks to all of you who have already donated to If Only I Were That Warrior.

Now, with two weeks left to reach our goal, we have to keep on working to make this campaign a success. We are halfway to reaching our $17,500 goal, but there is still a long way to go! Kickstarter is an all-or-nothing platform, so if we don’t reach our goal all the donations will be canceled and reimbursed. So please keep on sharing our Kickstarter page with your friends and followers. Your help is absolutely fundamental in making this film a reality.

We are very happy with our campaign so far. We were invited to screen our trailer and present the project at events organized by the Ethiopian communities in Washington DC, Atlanta, Dallas and New York. We found increasing support along the way, and we met some wonderful people as well.

If Only I Were That Warrior has also been featured in these articles on i-Italy, Il Cigno Nero, Ethiomedia, Assimba, ECAD Forum, and KPLCTV.

Today we are releasing a new clip — a presentation of the project by the filmmakers. Watch it here:

If you missed it last week, we also released this clip from the monastery of Debre Libanos featuring an interview with an eyewitness to the 1937 massacre:

And here is the film’s trailer:

We are confident that with your help we will be able to make the most of this fascinating story.

Thank you for your continued support,
